We look after nearly 7000 sites across the region - and lots of these are sites of specific scientific interest (SSSIs). Our sites, nature reserves and parks collectively support a rich diversity of habitats and species.
Innovating to enhance the environment is ingrained in the way we work. Following the success of our water recycling wetland at Ingoldisthrope, we’re planning 34 new low-carbon treatment wetland schemes as part of our business plan for the future.
As part of the planning, we have made a voluntary Biodiversity Net Gain commitment, aligned to the statutory one introduced by the Environment Act. Read more about our biodiversity strategy here.
Our people are passionate about protecting and enhancing the sites we’re responsible for. They work day-and-night as champions of habitats and guardians of wildlife, but they can’t do it alone.
That’s why many of our sites are supported by the Wildlife Trust:

Our Water Parks
We look after eight water parks across the region, each with plenty to enjoy and explore.
Whether you're looking for an action-packed day out or somewhere to kick back and relax, our parks offer something for everyone.
