We’re always looking for clever ways to save water. In the future, smart meters will help us find and fix leaks faster than ever before.
Smart meter data helps to us understand household usage, and detect leaks on customers properties so that customers only pay for what they use and not a penny more. Reducing the amount of water used, means we process less water, helping reduce carbon emissions. This upgraded metres also means we finding leaks faster on our networks, and reduce over demand across our region. Plus we can now collect meter reads more frequently and remotely which means less vans on our roads.

Using a smart meter means only paying for the water you use
We’ve been busy fitting meters in 90% of homes across the region. And by paying for what you use, households can typically save up to 15% - that’s nearly 30 litres per day – keeping your costs down and helping us to save water.
