Anglian Water is celebrating today after receiving an impressive four awards at the renowned Water Industry Awards last night in Birmingham, including the prestigious Water Company of the Year.

The company won the award for the first time in 2019.

The Water Industry Awards recognise the very best practice from the frontline of the UK water sector with a special focus on innovation and its applicability to the wider industry. Entries are rigorously assessed by an esteemed panel of industry experts, who are looking for evidence of tangible benefits – to customers, to the environment, and to companies themselves.

As well as scooping the top prize of the night, the region’s company was also awarded:

·      Diversity and Inclusion Initiative of the Year

·      Ground breaker Award for its low water commissioning approach in its Strategic Pipeline Project

·      Partnership Project of the Year for the Beacon Project with WaterAid, and the Nepal Water Supply Corporation

21-year-old Callum Brock, a Data and Reporting Analyst for Anglian Water, was also Highly commended in the Rising Star of the Year category at the ceremony. 

Overall, the company was shortlisted for a total of nine awards for 2023.

Peter Simpson, Chief Executive of Anglian Water, said following the ceremony, “I’m so proud of our achievements tonight. We’re absolutely delighted to be named Water Company of the Year.

“The challenges that face the industry are greater than they have ever been and rightly, our customers expect us to step up to that high bar. Everyone at Anglian Water including our partners and contractors, are working extremely hard to meet these challenges every day.

“These awards are for every one of them and are a testament to their dedication and unwavering commitment to the region we serve.”
