Meter readings

Please supply two meter readings taken after the repair, no less than 14 days apart. Without these readings we may not be able to calculate your allowance.

Reading your meter is easy. You will have either a type 1, 2 or 3 as shown below. Please remember to include any leading zeros when taking your reading.

Meter type 1

If you have an older style meter, your display should look like this. The black digits with white background indicate the cubic meters used and will be the digits you submit in your meter reading. Please tell us the first five digits only. So in the example shown, the meter reading would be 00158.

Meter type 2

If you have an older style meter, your display should look like this. The black digits with white background indicate the cubic meters used and will be the digits you submit in your meter reading. Please tell us the first five digits only. So in the example shown, the meter reading would be 00158.

Meter type 3
meter type 3

If you have a digital meter, your display should look like this. Please tell us all the digits in the top row only. So in the example the meter reading would be 000189. These meters flash alternative screens from time to time. This is completely normal and indicates your meter screen is working correctly.

Note: All our water meters have been approved and tested by the manufacturers to ensure accuracy and reliability. If you think your meter is giving an inaccurate reading, we will gladly test it for you. If your meter is inaccurate we will replace it and adjust your bill accordingly. However, we will charge you for the test if the meter is shown to be accurate.
