Climate change is a big contributor to the amount of extreme weather events we experience, and although our pipes are built to handle higher flows than normal, periods of intense rainfall and frequent flash floods can overwhelm the sewers, especially if there are any blockages.

Our extensive network of small-diameter sewers, which would stretch around the world twice, are at greater threat from blockages.

Our teams work hard to keep the sewers flowing by clearing over 100 blockages a day, which not only helps prevent flooding in homes and in the community, but also reduces bad smells and protects the environment from pollutions.
